Our Story — Since 2022Built by two surgeons who saw the gap.
Asian Orthopedics – Spine and Joints Center is Cebu's premier specialized, holistic orthopedic facility and ambulatory surgical clinic. Dr. Pierre M. Mella's practice began under the Asian Orthopedics name in 2017, and the Center was formally established in 2022 together with Dr. Claire Marie Durban-Mella — born out of a clear and urgent need: to give orthopedic patients, many of whom are disabled or have difficulty with mobility, a comfortable, world-class outpatient alternative to hospital care that is both accessible and convenient.

What sets Asian Orthopedics apart is its singular focus. Every physician, every staff member, every piece of equipment, and every square meter of the facility is dedicated exclusively to the musculoskeletal system — a depth of expertise and speed of care that generalist institutions structurally cannot replicate.
Today, Asian Orthopedics operates three clinic locations in Mandaue City, with fellowship-certified orthopedic surgeons, a licensed rehabilitation arm (Movement Lab), a dedicated nutrition service (Peak Nutrition), and a full clinical and administrative support team — the only true one-stop orthopedic ecosystem in the Visayas.

How we make decisions
Non-Surgical First
Before any surgical intervention, we maximize all conservative options — pain management, injections, viscosupplementation, rehabilitation, nutrition, and lifestyle modification. Surgery, when it's the right answer, is approached with precision and tissue preservation in mind.
Integrated and Holistic
Medical consultations flow seamlessly into imaging, procedures, physical therapy through Movement Lab, and nutrition planning through Peak Nutrition — a coherent continuum of care under one roof.
Patient-Centered and Accessible
Our physical environment, scheduling, and staff culture are designed to minimize the burden on patients with mobility limitations. Teleconsultations, PhilHealth accreditation, and HMO partnerships keep specialized care within reach.

Every room of our Mandaue City clinic is built around orthopedic patients, from the entrance ramp to the procedure suite.
